Have you ever searched Pinterest or even Facebook for some sort of recipe to help soothe your throat when it hurts? I know just how overwhelming it can be to find a recipe that you know will work or is even safe with the hundreds out there.
Essential Oils Are Not the Only Supportive Natural Alternative
First, it is important to know that essential oils are not the only natural and alternative choice to western medicine. They are fantastic to use when we need them but sometimes there are easier and safer alternatives.
Organic and wildcrafted herbs can have a huge impact on soothing a sore throat. I like to use loose leaf herbs like peppermint, chamomile, nettle, and astragalus. Often it is easier, cheaper and just as effective than using essential oils if you can use these in a hot tea.
Another fantastic alternative is an infused raw honey. You can see my recipe here. Honey has been proven in various research...

It has been estimated that 90% of all physical problems have psychological roots.
Research is showing us that almost every illness we encounter is influenced by our emotions.
It's crucial that you take time to listen to your body. It is an extremely important tool for alerting you when a problem is on the horizon.
Sometimes we don't see the underlying issues we have, but our body knows all.
For example, it is believed that when we get bronchitis and we are coughing up a storm, our body it telling us that we have unresolved grief to deal with. Sometimes just acknowledging the grief is all you need to do to heal.
It's not always about reliving an experience, but more about understanding that you've held on to if far longer than needed.
Have you ever really taken a close look at your hand?
Do you realize the amount of power you hold? Literally.
Now, sit back and think about how much you use your hands in everything you do. Think about how you use your hands in every part of your life. You need your hands for survival and yet how often do you remember how important they are, not only for your physical self but also for your spiritual self? You write, type, draw, cook, pray, make things, fix things and heal others.
Here’s a fun experiment – watch your hands as you are speaking to others. For some of you, you’ll find that your hands are flying all over the place and for others you’ll be using your hands to emphasize certain points of your conversation. How many times have you pointed to something or gestured someone with your hand? Watch a professional speaker while they are presenting and notice how they use their hands. And remember that those who don’t have all...
Oh how I love numbers. There are various studies of numbers that you can learn and follow. It's called Numerology. I've been studying numbers for many years now and have found from my own personal experiences that the energy of numbers is real. Some might think its hogwash and that's perfectly fine with me. As with all things, you need to allow yourself to be open-minded to really see how energy works and how it impacts one's life. For me, life has changed dramatically by opening myself up to the unseen things that are present. Just because we can't "see" it doesn't meant it doesn't exist. The truth is, the energy of numbers impact all of us whether or not we believe in it.
The path of self-discovery is much richer when you discover how the energy of numbers can impact you as a whole. Just remember that life is made up of cycles and patterns. When we really pay attention, we can recognize these patterns and cycles and...
One day many years ago Ella Newkirk was meditating and praying for inspiration for an upcoming art show when she first saw faces in stones in her mind. For several weeks she continued to see these little stones with faces. As they danced around in her head she would hear a voice say "even in the small stone I am there". She knew this was God speaking to her but she didn't really understand what it meant. Ella knew that she needed to follow this guidance so she set out to create these little faces on stones. It took her almost a full year to figure out the process to create the faces on stones as she had seen in her mind. The first one was completed in February 2000.
These stones are handcrafted and you'll never find two of them that are the same as each one carries it's own personality and healing energy.
They bring comfort and healing to those who possess them. These small stones help us to remember that the presence...

Emotional freedom technique (EFT), or “tapping” as some like to call it, is gaining more and more popularity. Why? Because it works. It has even be referred to as psychological acupressure. It is a process that by tapping on meridian points on the face and upper body with your fingertips creates emotional release and relief. In one moment you can be feeling stressed and overwhelmed and after a few “rounds” of tapping on these meridian points you feel calm, relaxed and capable.
EFT is based on the premise that all negative emotions are a result of a glitch in the flow of energy in the body’s energy system, ie, meridians. Meridians are the lines of energy that are commonly referred to in the Eastern traditions of acupuncture and acupressure. According to Eastern medicine our “chi” flows through them and when they become blocked physical dis-ease manifests. This is the same premise as EFT. When the...
Guest Post by Lisa Saylan, Reiki Master Teacher
Reiki changed my life. Many years ago, when I was recovering from a significant cycling accident, I was fortunate to have received Reiki, a form of energetic healing, during my recovery. I immediately noticed significant positive effects on my physical body, emotional well-being and mental outlook. With time, I also noticed a shift in my spiritual nature, and began to feel happier and more connected. Inspired by the amazing benefits I received, I became interested in learning more about Reiki and not only became a practitioner, but a Reiki Master Teacher. The life changing shifts and transformations I witness regularly in both my healing arts practice and teaching have only deepened my respect for and passion about Reiki, which I believe can heal the planet and all of the precious life it contains.
WHAT IS REIKI
Do a web search and you will find that Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is an alternative and holistic technique that promotes deep...

What is CBD Hemp Oil?
Cannabidiol, CBD, is a non-intoxicating component of the cannabis/hemp plant with enormous therapeutic potential. Although CBD Hemp Oil contains less than .03% THC and is Non-Psycho Active, itʼs causing quite a buzz among scientists, health professionals, and medical marijuana patients who are using CBD-rich products to treat a wide range of conditions - chronic pain, cancer, Crohnʼs, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, PTSD,

Summer is here with a vengeance so staying hydrated is even more important. However, do you know why you need to drink a ton of water all year long?
Let me tell you my story.
One day a few summers ago I was in a Crossfit workout. It was hot and I was feeling a bit tired. My muscles were feeling fatigued, but I thought that I ate something at lunch that might be messing with me. (Pasta and bread are bad ideas on workout days for me). As I worked through the workout, I found myself feeling nauseas and a bit dizzy. All of a sudden, my heart began beating at a rapid pace, like it was trying to beat twice at one time. It freaked me out! I decided it was time to go to the heart doctor and get myself checked out. Long story short, I'm in great health, no issues with my heart or circulatory system.
So what happened? Why did I have those symptoms?
Plain and simple. I wasn't hydrated....
